RTÉ Weather Photo Competition

RTÉ Weather Photo Competition

Calling all budding photographers…

The summer quarter of the RTÉ Weather Photo Competition in support of the 2010 International Year of Biodiversity recognises the importance of biodiversity on earth and in particular we want to celebrate the beauty of Irish native plant life.

Even though the weather in Ireland can be changeable and indeed challenging at times, it is our unique climate that fosters the growth of magnificent plant life which is often at its best when summer begins.

For the summer quarter we are calling for amateur photographers to submit photographs depicting Irish native plant life.

Enter a photograph which best encapsulates some aspect of plant life in Ireland which can span from large and small trees and shrubs, to low-growing flowering plants and ferns, to climbers such as ivy and honeysuckle.

One winner and five runners up from the season will have their photographs used as the backdrop for RTÉ Weather’s on-screen weather bulletins so get snapping now!
